The history of plumbing is fascinating and can teach us a lesson on how to develop modern systems. For instance, the Indians have used copper piping since 4,000 B.C. The Roman Empire brought forth aqueducts and sanitary lead piping, which revolutionized plumbing as we know it. In the 1870s the first water heaters were introduced.
