What better way to make the most of the warm weather than by heading out to a place of natural beauty? There are many fantastic spots to visit in Lewisville, but one that is certainly worth seeing is Lake Lewisville. This 29,000-acre lake is one of the biggest in North Texas and has no shortage of things for you and your family to enjoy. Here are just a few of the activities you should check out!
1. Take a camping vacation.
This beautiful spot is perfect for a vacation! Rather than taking a daytrip to the Lake or staying in a boring hotel somewhere else, book one of the site’s numerous camping grounds. You’ll have more time enjoy the lake and its surrounding wilderness.
2. Spend a day hiking or biking.
Lake Lewisville is surrounded by trails for hikers and cyclists. These trails vary in length and scenery, so whether you want a day of exploration or an afternoon jaunt, you’ll find it. You could even pack some sandwiches, and take a picnic for the trail!
3. Go boating on the Lake.
Many of the parks surrounding the Lake provide boat ramps, and there are five marinas to choose from, so why not rent a boat or even store your own at the Lake? You can also try out kayaking or paddle boarding for a change of pace.
4. Try your hand at fishing.
The Lake has a number of excellent fishing spots, including creeks, coves, and a fishing barge near Lake Park. Varieties of bass, white crappies, and catfish are prevalent, but trout, gar, and carp can also be found.
5. Play a round of golf.
For the golfer in the family, Lake Lewisville has four fantastic courses, all bordering or very close to the Lake. Suited to all skill levels, you can enjoy a challenging 18-hole showdown or a relaxing afternoon practicing with family.
6. Relax on the beach.
With 233 miles of shoreline, Lake Lewisville has no shortage of beaches. So if you would rather relax in the sun than hike, there is bound to be a spot for you. Many of the Lake’s beaches also offer features such as swimming areas and volleyball to keep the rest of the family entertained while you enjoy some peace.
7. Try out a variety of restaurants.
The Lake’s restaurants include sports bars, a Mexican restaurant, and even a floating bar and grill. Whatever your tastes, there should be something to whet your appetite.
8. Visit the Party Cove.
Party Cove is another unique feature of Lake Lewisville. Open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, it’s a favorite spot for those who want to party the weekend away. Visitors to the Cove can make their own way there or rent a party barge. The Cove offers alcohol and party music, enjoyed while swimming or relaxing on the shore.
Whatever your tastes, Lake Lewisville has plenty to offer. Whether you want a quiet day out, a romantic weekend away, or a fun time with the family, the Lake will keep everyone entertained. Contact Lake Lewisville’s staff online if you have questions before your visit.
